Ooshima

About 80 percent of trees on the island are camellias. In full bloom, it looks as if the slopes of the hills are covered with red carpet.

Shikinejima

Flocks of Umineko (black-tailed gulls) live on the boulders under Gunjiyama Observatory. It is an excellent place for bird watching.

Kozushima

You can enjoy various kinds of marine sports here. Mt. Tenjosan (one of New the Tokyo Hyakkei, meaning one hundred well-known spots) has a panoramic view of mountains of Izu and Boso.

Mikurajima

An island clad in deep green. You can see dolphins all through the year. There are secluded places, including Shirataki (white waterfalls) where water falls like white lines.

Aogashima

The island consists of the rims of the inner and outer craters of a rare composite volcano.
