Savor local sake in the midst of ancient mountaintop castle ruins (Full Day) [Hachioji]
This hiking course explores the ruins of a mountaintop castle built during the Warring States period (1490-1600). The course takes you up to the same mountain paths that were climbed by the armored warriors who stormed the castle centuries ago. After exploring the ruins, descend the mountain to visit the Nakajima sake brewery, operated by the descendents of the Nakajima family, vassals to the Hojo clan. If you visit at the right time, you will be able to observe the sake-making process. The paths are quite steep so wear comfortable clothes and good walking shoes.
