A 600 year old big Ginkgo tree known as "Kosodate Icho" is Tokyo's natural treasure. The owl made from Japanese silver grass is the symbol of Ikebukuro town.

It opened in 1950 as the only amusement park run by word office in Tokyo. You can enjoy a holiday together with your family, riding the Ferris wheel at the Norimono Hiroba, playing with animals at Dobutsu Hiroba, strolling at Fu-a Fu-a Land and fishing. On the Alice Stage (Stage on the water), animation character shows are held some 15 times a year on Sundays and public holidays
There is a stone tablet inscribed with a seated figure of Basho and a haiku (wishing luck for his traveling for "Oku-no-hosomichi") near the big ginkgo tree. A haiku is Japanese poem of seventeen syllables.
