Several taxi companies offer services at Narita International Airport. Passengers can take taxis from the taxi stands at the airport. Standard tax fares to destinations in Tokyo are from 15,000 yen to 24,000 yen, plus expressway tolls. Some taxi companies have adopted a zone fare system, under which destinations are divided into several zones and each zone has a uniform fare; the meter is not used. Standard fares under the zone fare system range from 15,000 yen to 24,000 yen, plus expressway tolls.
There also are omnibus taxi services, using nine-seat mini-van vehicles, about once an hour. The taxis go to Tokyo and Chiba, with standard fares from 3,500 to 5,000 yen, using a zone fare system. There are three major routes to get to Tokyo by car.
- (1) Leave airport through Gate 2 and get directly on Route 295
- (2) Leaving the airport through Gate 1 or Gate 2 and getting
on the Shinkuko Expressway via the Shinkuko IC and then change to the Higashi-Kanto
Expressway via the Narita IC
- (3) Leave the airport through Gate 1 or Gate 2 and take the Shinkuko Expressway via the Shinkuko IC and change to Route 295 via the Narita IC
- *Options (2) and (3) require expressway tolls. Option (1) does not require tolls, since it uses regular roads.
Haneda Airport
Passengers can fly to various places in Japan from Haneda Airport, which primarily handles domestic flights at present. There are two bus services departing for various destinations in Tokyo from Haneda Airport. Since each service has different bus terminals with different destinations, passengers should confirm their destinations when they buy tickets. It takes about 15 minutes to go to the Metropolitan Waterfront Subcenter and about one hour and 40 minutes to get to Fuchu. Bus fares vary according to destination, with the minimum fare standing at about 600 yen.
