Shinjuku Station is considered to be the terminal for West Tokyo. It is known for its vast selection of shops and restaurants inside the station building as well as its underground mall and famous department stores in the area.

Various electronics stores are packed right in front of the West exit.
•Right outside the West exit of JR Shinjuku Station.

Three tall buildings. The observatory room open to the public is popular.* A new exit on the first floor of Tokyo Metorpolitan Government Building No.1 which leads to Tocho-mae Sta. on the Toei Subway Oedo Line will be available starting from August 25 (Monday).

A culture complex with an opera theater, concert halls, restaurants and shops.
•Within 5-minute walk from the East Exit of Hatsudai Sta. on the Keio New Line/ Toei Subway Shinjuku Line. (Tokyo Opera City Building is directly connected to Hatsudai Sta.) From JR Shinjuku West Exit, take bus (10 minutes). From Toei Subway Oedo Line: Nishishinjuku Gochome A2 Exit, 17 minutes' walk.

An important shrine that formerly belonged to the Naito Shinjuku Family that lived here during the Edo era. Every year late in May, a big festival is held.an antique fair is held from early morning on Sunday . *the fair will be cancelled on the day when other special events are held or in case of inclement weather.
•From Shinjuku Station East Exit, walk along Yasukuni-Dori, turn to the left at Meiji-Dori. About 10 minutes' walk.

The Garden was once the Naito Family's residence. Cherry blossoms in spring and chrysanthemums in autumn are very popular.
