Mt. Fuji

The sacred Mt. Fuji (altitude 3,776m), something to climb once. Everyone is mesmerized by Mt. Fuji's majestic and mystical beauty. The mountain climbing season is July - August.

Access

From Tokyo station, take the Shinkansen Train Kodama -> Shin-fuji station / Fuji Tozan bus (mountain climbing season only) to various starting points

From Tokyo station, take the JR Chuo Line -> Otsuki station / Fujikyu line -> Fujiyoshida station / Fujikyu Tozan bus (mountain climbing season only) to various starting points

From Shinjuku station, take Odakyu line -> Gotenba station / Fujikyu Tozan bus (mountain climbing season only) to various starting points

Fujinomiya-guchi

This is the front mountain climbing trail for Mt. Fuji, and the shortest route to the peak. You can also see the Hoei crater along the way.

Access

From JR Tokaido Shinkansen Shin-fuji station, 2 hours 15 minutes ride on the Fujikyu bus to get off at Shin-Gogome (5th climbing point)

by Car -> About 45km ride on Tomei Expressway Fuji IC Fuji Sky Line toward Fujinomiya-guchi Shin-Gogome (5th climbing point)

Subashiri-guchi

A route passing through the thick trees, so the nature of Mt. Fuji can be enjoyed. When coming down, you will pass through the sand slope.

From JR Gotenba Line Gotenba station, 1hour and 20 minutes ride on the Fujikyu bus to get off at Subashiri-guchi Shin-Gogome (5th climbing point)

by Car -> 25km ride on Tomei Expressway IC through Route 138 and Fuji Azami Line toward Subashiri-guchi Shin-Gogome (5th climbing point)

Gotenba-guchi

A route where you can enjoy the exhilarating long sand slide. For those who don't climb Mt. Fuji, the hiking course to Mt. Futago is recommended.

Access

From JR Gotenba Line Gotenba station, 40 minute ride on the Fujikyu bus to get off at Gotenba-guchi Shin-Gogome (5th climbing point)

by Car -> About 20km ride on Tomei Expressway Gotenba IC through Route 138, Route 469 and Prefectural Road 23 Gotenba Fuji Koen Line toward the entrance to Gotenba-guchi climbing point

Kawaguchi-ko-guchi

This is the most popular trail. It has several lodges that you can rest at, and at the trail entrance, there are facilities such as a post office and foreign money exchange.

From Fujikyu Kawaguchi-ko station, 50 minute ride on the Fujikyu bus to get off at Mt. Fuji Gogome (5th climbing point)

by Car -> About 30km ride on Chuo Expressway Kawaguchi-ko IC through Fuji Subaru Line toward Kawaguchi-ko Gogome (5th climbing point)

Five Lakes of Fuji

On the Yamanashi Prefecture side of Mt. Fuji, there are the five lakes: Yamanaka-ko, Kawaguchi-ko, Sai-ko, Shoji-ko, and Motosu-ko. As a summer retreat, you can enjoy camping, fishing, and other leisure activities.

Access

Shinjuku station/JR Chuo line -> Otsuki station / Fujikyu line -> Kawaguchi-ko station

Shinjuku station/Odakyu line -> Gotenba station / Fujikyu line bus -> to Yamanaka-ko, Kawaguchi-ko

To Kawaguchi-ko, the Tomei Highway bus from Tokyo station, and the Chuo Highway bus from Shinjuku west exit bus terminal are available.

*Fujikyu sells various ticket sets convenient for touring the Five Lakes of Fuji.

Fuji Safari Park

Among nature stretching across the base of Mt. Fuji, you can see elephants and lions strolling around. You can almost feel as if you're in Africa.

From Tokyo station / JR Tokaido line -> Mishima station / JR Gotenba line -> Gotenba station / Bus for Nippon Land -> Fuji Safari Park

From Shinjuku station / Odakyu line -> Gotenba station/Bus for Nippon Land -> Fuji Safari Park

Fuji-Q Highland Park

In addition to "FUJIYAMA" with the Guiness World Record, there are several thrill rides at this amusement park.
