History and Culture of Western Adachi
Arakawa River bank (formerly a scenic point for cherry blossoms)
The Adachi City Museum collects materials that are related to local culture and history and presents them on different themes, such as festivals, history, and lifestyles. The museum gallery includes a display of handmade paper products, articles related to fuji-ko (religious worship for Mt. Fuji), large-sized ema (votive tablet), farm tools, household items, and more. Commemorating the opening of the Nippori-Toneri Liner on March 30, this special exhibition introduces history and culture of the west part of Adachi, which is covered by this new train service. Visitors may enjoy learning the history of Adachi as a suburban farming area of Edo, while appreciating various cultural assets and traditions that have been inherited until today.
