Satsuki (Azalea) Festival at Rikugien Garden

Image provided by Tokyo Metropolitan Park Association
The Rikugien Garden invites visitors to its annual satsuki (azalea) festival to enjoy their beautiful blooms found throughout its spacious garden. During the festival, a variety of fun events are scheduled, including Froebel boys choir concerts (May 24 & 25, 13:00), Niko (erhu) concerts (May 31, 13:00 & 15:00), and Edo puppet presentations (Jun. 7, 13:00 & 15:00). These events are held at the garden's open area in front of the landmark weeping cherry trees and will be cancelled in case of rain. Volunteer guides offer a free garden tour to visitors on Sundays and national holidays during the festival (11:00 & 14:00). Enjoy a set of green tea and Japanese sweets at Fukiage-chaya tea house, along with the refreshing spring view of the garden.
